Peace all!
My name is Sakinah Rasheed!
Nice to meet you!
When you first meet me you’re sure to get the impression that I’m not from around here as nearly everyone I’ve met tells me that I have an African accent.
Believe it or not, I was born and raised right here in the city of Montgomery, Alabama ( on the once lively street named McGowan ), along with my three brothers and two older sisters.
(Perhaps my ancestors are speaking through me? Who knows?)
Baking has always been one of my favorite pastimes but it was 2 years ago ( in the height of a pandemic ) when I decided to make baking more than a hobby.
I specialize in cinnamon rolls which I call Serenity Rolls. Why? Because the name Sakinah means Serenity. ( It also means tranquility, but that doesn’t roll off the tongue as smoothly. )
I also bake cookies and cakes. Right now I’m baking out of my kitchen with dreams of having my own bakery one day. God willing.
See you at the Curb Market! 🤟☺️
